Supermarkets move closer
to ocean protection
After years of pressure from our seafood campaign, in 2010 many of Canada's major supermarket chains began to rid their shelves of Redlist species and adopt sustainable seafood procurement policies. This was great progress, but retailers still need to do more to help protect the oceans.

Truce declared: The Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement
In May, we announced an historic pact between environmental groups and the Forest Products Association of Canada that will lead to large-scale protection of Canada's Boreal Forest, protection of threatened woodland caribou and higher environmental standards for forest management.
