Supermarkets were evaluated based on criteria including the existence, quality and implementation of a sustainable seafood policy, efforts to provide information to consumers on fishing methods and origin of fish, and number of species sold that are on Greenpeace’s ‘Redlist’.

Texting for ancient forests

Texting for ancient forests

Greenpeace has unveiled a new twist on its campaign to turn AbitibiBowater from a company that destroys forests into one that manages forests responsibly and sustainably. We called on supporters to send text messages directly to Denis Leclerc, AbitibiBowater’s Vice-President of Environment and Sustainability.  The action has been a success, with well over hundreds text messages asking Mr. Leclerc to advise AbitibiBowater to protect valuable intact areas of the Boreal Forest.  AbitibiBowater got the message loud and clear.
