Greenpeace Canada's desk calendar is an annual tradition, sent out to thousands of our supporters every year. The calendar is filled with photographs of our natural world, and the creatures we share our planet with. The calendar helps to remind us why the world needs Greenpeace: to help preserve our Earth and our environment.

We'd like to invite you to share your best calendar-worthy images with us. We'll display our favorites in a slideshow at, and our esteemed panel of Greenpeace photo editors will select the final 12 for the 2012 calendar.

Entry guidelines:

This calendar goes out to thousands of Greenpeace supporters, so we're looking for your best images to inspire wonder, awe and pride in them. We're particularly looking for close-up photos of Canadian wildlife, but also looking for your international photos of scenic places and creatures.

Work submitted must be original photography taken by the entrant. The entrant is the sole copyright holder. Images must not be altered before submission. Greenpeace may request a model release from the entrant if required. Greenpeace may crop or digitally process the images to fit the calendar.

Method of entry:

Step 1: Entrants must upload their photo(s) to their Flickr account. If you do not already have a Flickr account, you can create a free one at

Step 2: Once your photo(s) are uploaded to Flickr, fill out our form to submit your personal information and sign our photo waiver. You will be required to provide the link(s) to your photo(s) (a maximum of 3 images can be submitted per person).

That's it! Once your image is approved it will be added to our slideshow and will be in the running to appear in our 2013 calendar. Our judges will select our winners by August 6, 2012.

The chosen images will appear in the 2013 Greenpeace Canada desk calendar. The selected entrants will receive twenty (20) copies of the calendars for their personal use, a signed letter of recognition, and a Greenpeace T-shirt.
