Greenpeace launches video on seafood destruction on Oceans Day
Today is Oceans Day.
But there is little to celebrate.
The depletion of seafood stocks in the world’s oceans is severe. Overexploitation has reduced fish and marine mammals by 85 to 90 per cent from what they once were.
Supermarkets have a unique responsibility for the protection of marine life. But they need to hear from you to incite them to action.
Watch our new video to understand the problem–then contact your supermarket today.

Greenpeace has challenged the major supermarket chains through a confrontation campaign over the past couple of weeks with actions or demonstrations at 17 stores in three provinces. Nine activists were arrested during the campaign.
The campaign supports our new report, Out of Stock, Out of Excuses: Ranking retailers on seafood sustainability.
Hundreds of Canadians have already called on supermarkets to stop selling Redlist seafood. Add your voice!
